Black Desert Resort Opens in Utah’s Greater Zion

Black Desert, Utah’s largest resort, has officially opened with 447 rooms and suites, seven restaurants and bars, and a 15,000-square-foot spa, all with a backdrop of the dramatic red rock formations and black lava beds of Greater Zion.

Located in Ivins on 600 acres, the resort sits at the convergence of the Colorado Plateau, Mojave Desert, and Great Basin, offering guests unparalleled access to some of the Southwest’s most spectacular natural sights.

Black Desert’s guest rooms and suites span three options. At the heart of the resort is the Hotel Collection that puts guests within a short walk from the spa, pool, and dining outlets. For families or larger groups, the Resort Collection rooms have residential-style layouts with kitchenettes and sofa beds. Lastly, the Plume Wellness Collection’s eight rooms come with a slate of wellness extras, such as CBD-infused pillows, infrared therapy blankets, and aromatherapy that draws on locally harvested botanicals.

While each of the three luxury accommodation categories is distinct, all include amenities like welcome beverages, furnished balconies, on-demand golf cart transportation, access to the putting and driving range, and a Malouf pillow menu.

Guests also have access to Black Desert’s 19-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed championship golf course, a heated outdoor infinity pool, and an expansive fitness center. Additionally, Plume Spa & Wellness offers 13 treatment rooms and a Longevity Lounge with a dry cryo float, hyperbaric Cchamber, salt inhalation, and other cutting-edge experiences. Fitness classes and guided hikes led by an adventure concierge are available.

On the culinary front, Basalt, the resort’s signature American steakhouse, anchors the dining scene alongside Latitude, an open-air restaurant specializing in wood-fired meats and seafood. A rooftop lounge is home to live entertainment and sweeping desert vistas, while additional options include a lobby bar, coffee and dessert bar, poolside eatery, and sports bar with simulated golf bays and local craft beer.
