Christina Haack and Josh Hall’s marriage may have been doomed from the second he popped the question.
The HGTV star revealed that she didn’t say “yes” the first time he proposed and in response, Hall allegedly “threw the ring in the pool.”
“That was probably red flag number one,” she told People Wednesday. “I don’t think anyone’s ever heard that story before. Sorry. It’s true.”
The real estate entrepreneur had decorated the pool terrace at Haack’s home for the elaborate proposal but according to her, the timing was off.
“We weren’t getting along super great even then, off and on. When things were good, they were good, but it just felt like I wasn’t quite ready and so I just said, ‘This is not the right time,’” Haack, 42, recalled.
Hall’s rep tells Page Six, “Josh has no clue what Christina is talking about, but this isn’t the first time she’s been an unreliable narrator. The divorce is finalized. Josh has moved on. He’s confused why she is still talking about him.”
Despite her alleged initial rejection, the pair got engaged six months later in September 2021 with the “Flip or Flop” alum sharing snaps from the romantic day in a since-deleted post on her Instagram.
The carousel of photos included pics of her custom-designed 5-carat engagement ring as well as she and Hall enjoying a romantic meal on a beach in Cabo, Mexico. The duo then secretly wed in April 2022.
After nearly three years of marriage, Hall, 44, filed for divorce in July 2024. The real estate agent cited irreconcilable differences in documents obtained by Page Six.
Later than month, the “Christina on the Coast” star hit back at Hall’s request for alimony and claimed he transferred $35,000 of her “separate property rental income” into his personal account. He denied her claim.
She subsequently released a statement about their divorce on Instagram where she called her ex an “insecure man.” She also accused him of stealing from her and her three children in a scathing since-deleted posts shared via Instagram at the time.
The TV personality shares two children, Taylor, 15 and Brayden, 10, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa. She also shares 6-year-old Hudson with second ex-husband Ant Anstead.
Hall, on his part, took to Instagram and said that “he did not ask” for his marriage to end and asked for privacy during the “life-changing” divorce.
After taking jabs at each other back and forth for almost a year, the exes finally settled their messy divorce in May. Haack wrote at the time that she “can’t wait to move on with my life and focus on what’s ahead and all my blessings.”
Both of them are in new relationships. Haack moved on with Connex CEO Christopher Larocca and Hall is “happily dating” model Stephanie Gabrys.
