THIS is the staggering moment hundreds of starving Gazans flock to a huge whale shark on the beach before allegedly eating it – as aid trickles in following the ceasefire.
Jaw-dropping footage showed crowds of Palestinians tying the huge fish down with ropes in Khan Younis as they battled to keep it in place.
The enormous animal was likely hunted by fishermen in the beleaguered Gaza Strip or washed ashore, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The rare shark, named Ofek, was previously spotted off the Mediterranean coast, according to environmental organisation Sharks in Israel.
It comes as humanitarian aid continues to seep in as thousands of Palestinians return to the razed strip following Donald Trump’s peace deal.
In the staggering footage, scores of desperate Gazans can be seen working to keep the huge catch tied down.
Crowds of locals tussle between the leathery beast as one man barks orders at his pals.
A Gazan witness told Ynet: “For two years Israel did not allow us to fish – and today, when it was allowed, we managed to catch a fish weighing several tons.”
Reports claim the behemoth fish was about 10 metres long.
Whale sharks are the largest fish in the sea and can grow up to 14 meters long.
They can live for more than a century and feed on plankton and small fish.
It comes after Trump warned Hamas he will “go in and kill them” if bloodshed persists in the Gaza Strip.
His fierce warning seeks to end violence that has continued to plague Gaza, with Hamas executing “collaborators” and killing rivals in deadly gun battles.
Horrifying videos emerged cold-blooded executions on the streets of Gaza just hours after the final surviving hostages were freed.
And dozens more were reportedly killed in violent skirmishes in Gaza City.
Meanwhile, Israel has threatened to “resume fighting” and shatter the peace deal after Hamas said it was unable to find any more hostage bodies.
The terror group was supposed to hand over 28 bodies by Monday as the last 20 living captives were returned after two traumatic years.
But 19 Israeli dead remained in the blitzed coastal strip amid fears Hamas is keeping bargaining chips and playing sick games with families desperate for closure.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also threatened to restrict the amount of aid flowing into the Gaza Strip – if the remains are not returned.
He said: “The struggle is not over, but one thing is clear today: Anyone who raises a hand against us already knows he will pay a very heavy price for his aggression.
“We are determined to complete the victory that will shape the order of our lives for many years.”
