Karine Jean-Pierre’s Book Tour Landing With a Thud – HotAir

Karine Jean-Pierre distinguished herself as a spokesperson for Joe Biden.

Not in a good way, but she will be remembered for longer than most. She managed to combine stupid, unprepared, and mendacious into a stew that tasted good to nobody, including her bosses, who felt constrained by her gender, race, and sexual preferences to keep her on board despite being terrible at her job. The best they could do to get her out was to offer her the opportunity to make millions as a figurehead for

Now that the Biden administration is well and truly in the past, so is KJP’s career. Her bosses tried to kick her upstairs, metaphorically, by arranging a gig as the president of EMILY’s List, but she turned them down flat. She liked where she was and stayed to the bitter end. So, instead, they turned John Kirby into a garbageman, doomed to clean up her messes.

Now that Karine Jean-Pierre is at loose ends, she is trying to hawk her new book, “Independent.” In it, she explains why she has left the Democratic Party, using her experience as Press Secretary as a backdrop. Just how exactly she defines “independent” is a mystery, since she remains a Democrat in all but name, but she wants everybody to know how angry she is that the party dumped Joe Biden.

Jean-Pierre does seem to have one virtue, even if it is misdirected: she remains intensely loyal to Joe Biden. Now that Biden is gone, all those talking heads who pretended that Biden was fine are heaping scorn on Jean-Pierre for continuing to make the discredited claim.

The media needs a scapegoat to cover for their own failures, and KJP is a very convenient one for them. She was the frontman for the administration, and media folks can blame her for their own failure to report on Biden’s decline.

KJP said “cheap fakes,” and the media dutifully repeated it as if their job was to parrot the talking points. Because that is their job as they see it. They were made to look like fools, and Jean-Pierre conveniently gives them somebody to blame.

KJP’s rise and fall have everything to do with identity politics. She replaced “Circle Back Barbie” mainly because she could claim a number of firsts. She was black, female, an immigrant, and preferred to have sex with women instead of men. Her rise to the top and her ability to stay there despite manifest incompetence were all dependent on her being a multi-first, and her excommunication from the ranks of the elite is due to the fact that, as a pure DEI-hire, she was incapable of doing the job of at least lying convincingly.

She absurdly claims that her identity has held her back–she is “taken for granted.” The opposite is true, of course. She was held up as a role model, despite her inability to speak without referring to notes on the most basic issues.

Democrats are ignoring the LGBTQIA2Sgobbledygook “community?” In what universe could this possibly be said? They seem to speak of little else at times.

She lies about this as she does about everything: very badly.

I saw some wag joke that Karine Jean-Pierre’s book is the least anticipated of the year. After the apparent success of Kamala Harris’ book, I hesitate to make a prediction myself, but my gut tells me it won’t fly off the shelves. It probably won’t exactly flop, because there is a hard core of people who vacuum up political gossip, but if I were her publisher, I wouldn’t print a million copies.

Jean-Pierre’s big problem is that she struggles to meet the standard of average intelligence, and she never puts in the work that others at her level have had to. She is not particularly charismatic, and is an unconvincing liar, and lie was all she did. She was probably smart enough to be a mid-level staffer if she were willing to do the work, but she never was.

John Kirby, for all his flaws, was miles better than she at the job, but pale skin, gonads, and bland heterosexuality burdened him.

Some academic institution or another will hire her, I suppose, but she has no future as a power broker. She is no David Axelrod, Donna Brazile, or even a Jen Psaki. They are all good at fronting for their party, while Jean-Pierre doesn’t rise to the level of midwit. Axelrod and Jones can do the “analyst” gig, Brazile the eminence grise, and Psaki the MSNBC flak role.

Jean-Pierre? She can complain that black immigrant lesbians get no respect.

: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
