Ahh, fall. For most people, fall is the season of back-to-school shopping, thick wool sweaters, and overpriced pumpkin-flavored coffee drinks. For anime lovers, fall is also the season when the most hotly anticipated titles are released! Whether they’re new seasons of existing shows or premieres of new original series, these are the titles of 2025 (in no particular rating order) that I’m most excited about.
1. My Hero Academia (Season 8)
Premiered October 4, 2025

Bones
The iconic action anime is now in its final season, and it’s set to go out with a bang! While few details of the story were released before the premiere, fans can expect that My Hero Academia season 8 will be a high-octane roller-coaster ride from start to finish, just as all of the seasons before it have been. When the final episode ends its run, I won’t cry because it’s over, but be proud of the mark the series has made on pop culture both in Japan and beyond.
2. Spy x Family (Season 3)
Premiered October 4, 2025

Wit Studio, Cloverworks
The adventures of the Forger family continue in what promises to be their most exciting season yet! Much like My Hero Academia, little was known about what Loid, Yor, and Anya would be getting up to, but the trailer reveals small clues into the found family’s dark backstories. The stakes have never been higher, and Spy x Family has never disappointed viewers before!
3. May I Ask for One Final Thing? (New Series)
Premiered October 4, 2025

LIDENFILMS
In my mind, few prospects are as frightening as having my reputation unjustly dragged through the mud. When leading lady Scarlett is falsely accused of all manner of atrocious deeds by her ex-fiancé, Kyle, she doesn’t get mad—she gets even. How? By strapping on a pair of black leather gloves and throwing hands at the people who wronged her! With its vindictive protagonist and hard-hitting plot, May I Ask for One Final Thing? promises a fresh spin on the otome villainess genre, and I am here for it!
4. One Punch Man (Season 3)
Premiered October 12, 2025

J.C.Staff
My Hero Academia isn’t the only superhero anime back on a roll. Saitama, Geno and the gang are back with more heroism and hilarity! I’m most excited to see what outlandish superpowers will make an appearance in this particular season and whether they’re end up being complete jokes or saving the day. One Punch Man is without a doubt one of my favorite parody series in general, and one that I will be keeping a closer eye on than ever!
5. Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! (New Series)
Premiered October 3, 2025

Asahi Production
The gourmet genre of anime is one of my personal favorites, and it always makes me happy to find a new series that feeds me. Pass the Monster Meat, Milady! follows the adventures of Melphiera Marchalrayd, a noblewoman who has a unique love for the meat of monsters, a taboo craving within her kingdom. But with the Blood-Mad Duke of Galbraith at her side, no public opinion will stop Melphiera from indulging in her beastly cravings.
6. Touring After the Apocalypse (New Series)
Premiered October 4, 2025

Nexus
If you woke up one morning to find that the world had ended, what’s the first thing you would do? Start a frantic search for your friends and loved ones? Have a good cry? For Youko and Airi, the protagonists of Touring After the Apocalypse, the apocalypse means gaining the freedom to see the whole world! Geared up with nothing but a dinky motorbike and a dream, these two young girls hit the road to see all there is to see (or what’s left of it) with only each other to lean on.
7. A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace (New Series)
Premiered October 6, 2025

Voil
Workplace comedy anime are not new at all, least of all those that revolve around anime and manga production, but I still can’t help but love them! Most especially, A Mangaka’s Weirdly Wonderful Workplace sounds like a beautiful coming-of-age story about a shōjo manga artist struggling to find her place in the industry with the support of her friends and plenty of laughs along the way!
Are there any 2025 releases that I missed? What anime are you looking forward to seeing this fall?
