(The Center Square) – The U.S. just struck three nuclear sites inside Iran, including Fordow, the nation’s key nuclear facility, according to a social media post from President Donald Trump on Saturday night.

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” the president wrote in a Truth Social post Saturday evening.

The announcement came shortly after the president returned to the White House to meet with his national security team.

Multiple reports indicated Saturday morning that B-2 stealth bombers, likely carrying two 30,000-pound bunker busters, would be needed to penetrate the nuclear sites. The stealth bombers are based out of Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, roughly an 18-hour flight from Iran.

In recent days, Trump told reporters he would make his decision on whether to strike Iran “within two weeks.”

This is the first time the U.S. has executed an air strike inside Iran.

This is a developing story.
