BP’s Owen Krueger wins Class A state title in shot put

Blooming Prairie senior Owen Krueger took home his first state title on the first day of the Class A state track and field meet at St. Michael/Albertville Tuesday.
Krueger hit a PR throw of 55 feet-10.25 inches on his first throw of the meet to put him in prime position to take home the gold in shot put. It is the senior’s second trip to state.
GMLOKS sophomore Tate Goergen took first in the 800-meter preliminaries with a time of 1:55.54 and he will go after the state championship on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
GMLOKS’s Lauren Queensland finished seventh in high jump and Neveah Shaw took 21st in high jump.
GMLOKS senior GMLOK’s Chantle Reiland took 16th in long jump and she advanced to the finals in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. She is also a member of the GMLOKS 4 x 200-meter relay team that advanced to state.
The GMLOKS 4 x 200-meter relay team of Zach Reiland, Kaleb Yunker, Carter Glynn and Tate Goergen finished in 10th place as they missed the finals by .12 of a second.
LP freshman Clare Bisanti finished 18th in the 800-meter run and she didn’t advance to the finals.
